There is a wonderful variety of gift shops and boutiques in this area. It's La Jolla so expect to pay more but the quality of the merchandise is excellent. Good bars as well.

Ok, let me be honest, I live in San Diego. Love to take visitors to this area even though prices are double, triple and more than what they are in the rest of San Diego. By the way, La Jolla is not a separate town, it is a neighborhood of the city of San Diego. You'll find all sorts of... More

Even though we live only 20 minutes away, my spouse and I enjoy strolling along Girard and Prospect Streets because the shops are always getting new and interesting merchandise. For instance, the floral shop on Girard had some of the most unusual, lovely proteas we had ever seen on display. I can always find the perfect gift in Warrick’s Bookstore... More

Enjoyed walking the area after lunch. Quite a few interesting shops and small galleries. Lots of dining options. Parking is difficult but can be found. Valet parking available for a price, of course.

What a quaint area to walk along the sidewalks to window shop and then have a huge selection of wonderful places to eat! Parking can be a hassle, but we used the valet parking while we were there.

Prospect Street is where Hotel La Valencia is located. There are about 15 Restaurants ,many Art Galleries and Shops. It is fun to walk . If you are lucky to be there when they have their Art/Wine festivities it is great. Girard St also has good eateries and many shops,Banks etc.

Beautiful shops, boutiques, galleries, and all kinds of good wholesome eateries make this area worth a visit. Giffard's Gourmet Deli is one of the best eating experiences for me - a self-confessed "Foodie"!

As a local, I sometimes envy the excitement and awe that tourists get to experience when they visit La Jolla. So I sometimes just become one of them and stroll down Prospect and sip on some coffee and people watch and let it all sink in. It is a beautiful stroll with every manner of taste to appeal to.
