It was supposed to be a children's pool, but the harbor seals took over and it's a main tourist and local attraction. Great picture spot.

The Children's Pool is one of the bex=st attractions along the fabulous LaJolla coastline. But in the winter, its even better because you can see dozens of sea lions and seal mothers with their cubs! These little sports are eager to learn and to get...More

The sea lions here were very lazy. I had many comments asking if they were dead. The views were nice and it wasn't too crowded.

The area was full of seals and their pups while we were there. It was so much fun to watch the seals and their pups. There is an area to walk out on for better viewing of the seals and the cliffs. What a great...More

Still called the children’s pool although it’s been home to seals for longer than I’ve been alive. It’s a neat place to get close to real seals in a beautiful setting but they do smell a great deal. This part isn’t to be taken lightly...More

Not as many seals out as I thought (and had seen in other people's pictures on here), but maybe because it's "pupping" season? Saw at least 2-3 little seal pups, so cute! Enjoyed watching them in their own environment. The beach to the seals was...More

Wonderful area to view the seals or sea lions, whoever has moved in!!!. Enjoyed the walk out into the ocean. It allows you to get great wave pictures as they crash against the walkout. Also great views looking back into the cliffs

We did it. And did it with several whiny little kids, and big adults.

Yes, there are sea lions and seals on this coast year round. You'll find seals at the Children's pool and the sea lions typically hand a little north of this at the Cove. You can usually find the sea lions by the smell (it... More
