Nice and relaz

Harunire Terrace is a place with shops and restaurant. It is actually located in Naka-Karuizawa. We took a taxi from Karuizawa to there. Or you can talk a local train from Karuizawa to Naka-Karuizawa station and talk about 30 minutes walk from the station. There are plenty of choices of restaurant and coffee shop. You can easily spent two or three hours there, because the environment is very nice and relax. It is a unique shopping mall full of western style within the tradition of Japan. It is the place I like most within the prefecture of Karuizawa. It gives you a feeling of total relaxation as the place is surrounded with woods and stream. Simply wonderful! And I will go again if I have the chance to go to Karuizawa.

A relaxing time here!
Jun. 2019 • Couples
It is a charming terrace with nice spots for photo taking. There's a small stream that runs by it and you can sit at the terrace and just be with nature - listening to the flowing water and watching the world go by. All with a cup of coffee as there are nice cafes at the terrace too.

Charming, relaxing, and nice
Dec. 2018 • Friends
I was in the area because I was up at the skating pong, which is just north of the there.
My friend and I walked from the ice rink, to this quaint, charming area via the nature pathways they have, where you can do small shopping, eat, snack, and just relax.
It is a small area, just so you know. There is parking in various areas and unsure of public transit to get here. Sorry. We took a cab to get to the skating rink. Roughly a $20 taxi ride.

The prices around here are moderate to high, but it is a nice area and the layout is really nice. Some people have posted that the prices are high because it's tourist trap, that might be so, but I didn't see it that way. I am on vacation and if I don't mind spending a little extra, then so be it. And you are not forced to buy anything. It can get busy at times, but it was pretty reasonable for the amount of people that were around.

My friend and I enjoyed our short time here, on the way back to Karuizawa station.

A charming terrace, especially in the early morning or evening if you are staying in the naka-karuizawa area
Oct. 2018 • Family
We stayed in the Naka-karuizawa area within walking distance to Harunire terrace. (a full review in petitetravel.net). While Harunire terrace was definitely crowded during throughout the afternoon, we enjoyed the peaceful early morning walk at the terrace and exploring the nature trails among the autumn leaves and little streams that led from the terrace to Hoshinoya Picchio.

In the evening, the naka-karuizawa area was pretty quiet and the Harunire terrace provided a charming place to watch the stars, catch a snack, or to chill out at the book-store cafe which had a great selection of coffee beans.

First visit.

Lunch stop. But if you have time there’s a walking trail that goes into the woods. The trail is nice but can get soggy if wet and you will reach a gorge and a tunnel.

The is retail zone designed to cash in on guests staying in the surrounding hotels and resorts. If you are into standing in line then you will have a great time here!

This is a pretty little shopping area with a few restaurants, cafes and shops. It's located right next to a river, so it's great place to stop and eat and enjoy the view.

A free runs here from Karuizawa Station, however it can be quite busy. It's also possible to take the train from Karuizawa Station to Naka-Karuizawa station and walk about 15 minutes to get here

Touch of Class

This small boutique shopping & dining complex is the "destination" in Naka-Karuizawa. Developed by up-market Hoshino Resorts, Harunire Terrace is situated in a beautiful forest setting along side the Ugawa River. Many of the restaurants and cafes feature outdoor seating to soak up the sun and scenery.

Surprisingly Romantic!

Love this place! The choices of restaurants, shops and interesting shops, total 14 with their unique offers! Grab a river view table at one of the restaurant or just buy a cup of coffee and sit by the river! Truly relax, amazing view and romantic. Walking along the river to the opposite onsen area as well as other food outlets, I had a great time there, been twice during my 2 days visit! It was crazy and I enjoyed it
