Inuyama Castle (犬山城 Inuyama-jō) is located in the city of Inuyama, Aichi Prefecture, Japan. The castle overlooks the Kiso River, which serves as the border between Aichi and Gifu prefectures. Inuyama Castle is one of only 12 surviving Japanese castles built before the Edo period.

This castle is small but lovely. Great for families because children can climb the steps and go out onto the observation deck. The views of the surrounding city and mountains was spectacular! Their is a 550 JPY fee.

Make the time to visit this castle. Kids will love the stairs and tower. It's still privately owned and is a national treasure. The town is friendly, quiet, and offers great shops and food. We walked from the train station the castle.

I am not a fan of castle but my friend is. We went to Inuyama Castle and it was one of the oldest castle in Japan. Recommended.

If you are fun of visiting castle in different countries, this may add to your collection one of the places that can be cherished but for sure its not one of the best.

This is one of the few original castles standing in Japan...not a lot to see inside the castle but the views from the top is worth the visit...
