Walking along the old city wall, you can see the old houses preserved on the inside of the wall and can see the new modern city with it's lovely park on the other side. Just standing on top of the wall one can see this...More

I dont know why but the wall is not so popular with tourists! It is an amazing wall and is easily walkable all round. The lack of people up here makes it a relaxing retreat. Bring umbrella for sunny or rainy weather as there is...More

You can access the wall from the south or west entrance. I walked up the south side to the west and walked down into the Confucius Temple. It gives you a good view of the city and a must do while you are there!

When you walk on the old city wall of Pingyao and enjoy the views of the ancient city you can almost feel and smell the long gone ancient China. Unfortunately you cannot walk on all parts of the wall

Really well preserved wall. Easy to walk, not very tiring. Great views! This wall is surrounding the ancient city of Ping yao. We stayed at the "Jing's residence" in ping yao... a really special and charming hotel really recommendable!!

We loved our walk along this wall. Yes, it has been restored in one or two places, but that doesn't detract from the enjoyment. From the wall you get a great view of the maze of streets in the old city.

Wonderful. The wall is well maintained and loved by loc people. The walk along the top is spectacular. Its a must visit and the only original intact old wall in China.
