Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This is a super fun, lively street that is great for buying souvenirs and for people-watching. It has a lot of good restaurants, massage places, a place to get a fish foot bath, etc. However, be aware that about half is under construction, and in a significant portion of that everything is closed.
I'd say at least 30% of Pingyao is under construction right now, which has led to a lot of trouble and disappointment on my trip. I'd recommend delaying any trip here for at least six months.

These are the main streets in Pingyao. There are tons of shops, restaurants, and museums along the road. If you want to go into the museum you'll need to buy the city ticket. What I liked is people were not pushing you to shop or buy from them like you see in other parts of China.

All the streets insides Pingyao ancient city are fascinating and worth a stroll, either during the day or at night. They are always busy, always full of people and the atmosphere is always exciting. Every shop front is a museum in itself and worth a photo stop. Strolling the streets is free, but you will need the Pingayo ancient own ticket to stop in any of the museums or temples en route.

Nice street full of tourists shopping. You can either soak in the atmosphere or find something to gripe about. Attractions are also nearby.

Spent a nice afternoon walking down the street. The buildings look a little warn but gives it a ancient fell to it. The streets are crowded but they do try to prevent scooters from getting in. The shops seem to sell the same stuff so if you see something you like just buy it.

So many boutiques, restaurants, tzotzke stores and people watching. Ming and Qing Street is great for all of this.

Pinyao is an ancient walled city that few people in the western world have heard about but it is a really nice old big village. These streets are very lively, the heart of old town. A bit more south, you can find a street specializing in massages - your feet will need it!

This is where the action is in Pingyao. Full of shops and outdoor eateries and chock-a-block with Chinese tourists. Go at night.
