Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Nicest feature of this hotel is the infinity pool and the Brown coffee on the public beach front.
The path to the small private beach area from the pavilion units can be tricky to tread, wet and uneven.
The on-site restaurant food was mediocre, same with the breakfast buffet (fruits were not fresh).
The rooms were decent and clean but no ocean view from pavillion.
The whole beach area was disappointing; public beaches are littered with trash, tin barrels, and street vendors ruining the scenery. Plus all you see are abandoned constructions of high rise buildings everywhere apparently by chinese investors ( legit and not legit is what I heard) due to the pandemic
Otres must have been beautiful at one time; I see the natural beauty which is now marred by litter and abandoned buildings unfortunately.
Not worth the almost 3 hour drive from Phnom Penh.

This whole town should be avoided. It's a filthy crumbling garbage heap. The water at the beach is nothing you'd ever want to immerse yourself in without a giant shot of penicillin waiting for you on shore.

This place is disgustingly filthy. What was obviously a beautiful beach at one time is now full of rubbish and has open drains emptying out onto it. The back of the beach has half finished Chinese construction projects and the locals have been displaced to a small shanty town at one end of the beach. There are a few dirty bars and restaurants and for the sole reason that we needed a drink, we stopped at one of these places and found that our table companion was actually a dead dog.Yes really! When we made the owner aware, they just laughed. This place is very sad and nobody in their right mind would visit it at this time. Only rated one star because no stars is not an option

This beach, if looked after properly, could be one of the best places to visit. White sandy beach but filth everywhere. Plastic should be picked off on a massive scale. We did what we could.

The poverty and condition of the housing in Cambodia are appalling. We really had no idea. This stretch of beach was probably the nicest thing we saw. It was relatively clean and even had trash barrels where you could throw stuff out as opposed to just dropping it on the ground. There were tourists and locals there having picnics and swimming. Benches are available. There is a pier, a children’s playground and restrooms. Lots of trees for sitting in shady contemplation.

This is being considered as one of the Best beaches in SIHANOUKVILLE. The sands are powdery and white and CURRENTLY clean. As it is quite new as a tourist spot, not much of activities are available for tourists; as compared to other more established beaches (example: PHUKET. BORACAY. BALI....). The water is acceptably clean CURRENTLY, before the on slaught of tourists !!! There are some hotels/resorts along the beach and offer GOOD retreat after a SUNNY Day !!! Visit it for the exposure, before the on slaugh of tourists; when China promote it as a popular sea side resort !!!

Independence Palace also cqlled Reunification palace and was built on the site of the former Norodom Palace, It was designed by a Vietname architect Thụ .
During the Vietnam War , It was the office and home of the President of South Vietnam .
Beautifully built and keeping some of the Elements of the earlier building , its a fascinating walk through all the rooms seeing the various meeting rooms, of the President, Prime Minister and First lady.
It also has a massive Bunker underneath and with war offices and communications room and also the residence of the President of South Vietnam.
There are remnants of Shells fired at the Palace by Helicopter Gunships on the outside front Terrace and the Vietnam War ended here on 30 April 1975, when a North Vietnamese army tank broke through its Main entrance gates. There are two full Tanks in the Garden outside.
Fascinating walk through Vietnam History.

Nice soft sand and a board walk. Rest rooms had American style toilet available in one stall. No time to swim, but it looked like many were going to.

Independence beach is a nice beach to relax and swim.
It’s a chill place in big contrast with the city itself at the moment. It one big construction site and therefore horrible.
Wanna see a modern Shinoukville, come back over 5-8 years!

Hi, best way is on a tuk tuk if your ship is pulling into Sihanoukville, if you only there for the day. It took us about 10 to 15 minutes on a motor bike. Make sure you agree on a price before you get in the tuk tuk. If you go out the front of the Serendipity beach resort there are tuk tuks out the front there and ask for Baan,mp renounced barn. Tell him Bryan and Karen from Australia sent you and he will look after you with a reasonable price. He is quite happy to wait for you are ready to go back. Ask him to take you to the monkeys in the early afternoon they come down to the road and you can feed them. Plenty of bananas to buy right across the road. Have fun it's a great place.
