We have only been to 16 winery's in the area but this without a doubt was the worst experience. It took days to coordinate a reservation through there phone in only service. We arrived in the rain and it was quite a distance for the parking and access to the entry was blocked and there were no bathrooms accessible to the public in the 12,000 sq. ft. building.

Our server was not in any type of uniform but instead he looked like he just got off his skate board. We paid $60.00 each for the most unprofessional presentation ever. He walked up poured 2 glasses of wine and walked way, the only presentation being " this is a sauvignon blanc" . Each presentation that followed was equally as unenthusiastic. The same glass was used over and aver for the five minuscule servings.

I would strongly suggest the management visit the St. Francis Winery where we paid $75.00 for five tasting's of both tapa's paired with an appropriate wine, in a clean glass & clean plate from uniformed, knowledgeable and professional wine experts

As part of a weekend in Sonoma we visited Ledson Winery enticed by the architecture and the reviews. We were expecting to find one or two standouts but were blown away by all the varietals we tasted. Tom was a great host during our outdoor tasting, carefully explaining each wine, and even giving us a number of off list tastings as well. After describing each pour he retreated to allow us to enjoy the wine, and returned as we finished each selection. We never felt rushed nor ignored the entire time. We greatly enjoyed our time here and certainly will return again in the future.

Don’t get me wrong I did like the wine and bought a couple of bottles that got shipped home, but after spending time at a number of other wineries in Sonoma and Napa I came to the conclusion that Ledson Winery is unnecessarily pretentious. I went with a friend in later August. We did our due diligence and made a reservation prior to our visit. But before we got there they charged my card $205 for both the wine tasting and a cheese plate (we definitely spent the most at Ledson compared to the other wineries we visited). I guess the credit card charge was expected, but I wasn’t expecting them to tack on 20% gratuity to the wine tasting and an additional 20% gratuity for the cheese plate. Yes, 20% gratuity for cheese while other wineries will give you a small cheese plate for free. Now you would think with 20% gratuity the service would be outstanding; however it was average at best. First, our server was wearing jeans. Certainly not the biggest issue, but I would expect a winery like Ledson would have some type of dress code for there staff and jeans would not be on the list. Next our server also wasn’t really paying attention to details even though there were only 2 other parties in the tasting room. He served us the same wine twice. Even after correcting him to let him know that we already tried the wine he still poured it. Lastly, since there was only 2 other parties in the tasting room, I feel he lacked attentiveness and spent more time talking and educating the party that was at the bar. Now, these small details didn’t ruin our trip to Ledson, but there was an expectation going in (especially with the already added 20% gratuity) that you would be getting an exceptional experience, but that wasn’t the case.

The Ledson winery is a castle set among the beautiful Sonoma vineyards, which is a good reason to go anyway, but we discovered that the wine tasting experience was also every bit as beautiful. The inside of the castle is finished with fine woods, and we sampled their delicious wines next to a burning fireplace. Wonderful!

Our wine tasting host, Pablo, was fantastic! He was very good at explaining the wine that we were tasting and was very approachable to talk to. The wines that we tasted were all very, very good. We then went to their little deli/gift shop and had a delicious handmade sandwich.

Starting with the bad (or the ridiculous). 6 of us visited on sunday. One couple was wine club member. Another couple became a wine club member and we bought close to $1,000 of wine. And at the end they refused to waive tasting fees. Seriously? On the positive side, the property is beautiful and the wine is good.

Ledson is absolutely beautiful and has some of the best wine I have ever tasted. There wasn’t a single wine that I did not like! Our sommelier, Ryan, was knowledge, funny and unpretentious. He tailored our tasting to our own personalized preferences. I highly recommend this winery.

We held my husband's birthday celebration at the tasting room located in the Ledson hotel in Sonoma. I can't say enough good things about the experience and the staff.
The staff was friendly, capable, flexible and went above and beyond. The wines were very good, and everyone had a wonderful time. The space itself is very inviting and was organized to optimize our guests interaction. I would highly recommend the Ledson tasting room for a place to get together and celebrate.

While we were heading to another winery, I saw this castle from the road and my wife made me turn around to check it out. Sure, it reminded us of Harry Potter, but that is what was intriguing. We asked if we could have a tasting, and the lovely receptionist mentioned that it no problem, but just give them a minute to get a table ready. We were able to spend 3 minutes in their market before being called. It was an absolute refreshing surprise. Although my family’s party of 5 may be knowledgeable about wine, we are by no means snobs. We like to have fun and enjoy wine. Our host was the same way. Eventually, we were all cracking bad jokes and having fun doing it. Even the tasting room manager got into the fun as well. In the meantime, we were discovering that this place has some amazing wines. They also had an incredible variety. (Don’t pass up on trying their Carignane) Afterwards, they gave us a tour or the place which was also phenomenal to see the incredible workmanship that went into the place. I would highly recommend this place for people that enjoy wine and have fun doing so.

Visited yesterday, 4th October 2023, had a walk in tasting and we had the great fortune to paired with Bill for our visit. He was very well versed in all the wines and made us feel so welcome and special. I cannot praise him highly enough, if you have the opportunity to visit then Bill must be the man you spend your time with. Oh and all the wines were excellent with my favourite being the ‘sweet Ida may’ Zinfandel
