Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I think this place has become kind of a icon to the Julian area. You can find Julian Hard cider all around San Diego County and it has become quite popular. It’s located in the Julian station with a burger place next door. You can come in and get a flight of ciders so that you can try different kinds. All the fancy flavors are nice, but I’m basically a regular cider guy. It’s a nice place to sit and unwind, and the staff is friendly. Definitely stop by and have some of the cider.

We stopped by the Julian Cider tasting room after touring the town of Julian. What you don't know is that the building has other vendors such as arts and crafts, winery and chocolate tasting, mead tasting, a taco shop and a tap room for craft beer tasting. You could spend over an hour in the place. A nice fun stop.

On the 78 on your way to or from Julian. $5 or 5 tastes (all of their ciders). Friendly people. Had our choice of seats on a Friday afternoon. Took our three month old in the stroller and felt very welcome.

Locate about 10 minutes outside historic Julian is this Hard Cider store. They're open from 1:00 to 5:00 PM and it's inside a shopping area with other tenants.

I met Brad outside the store and told him that one of my Twitter friend suggested to try his cherry bomb cider. He told me it was $5 for five tastings. I showed him my yelp check in and he said the tastings were free.

I assume that the cider was made with local apples. Brad told me that they don't use the Julian apples, as the popularity of their beverages have outgrown them. So they get apples from Portland, Oregon. They try to use Julian apples when possible, usually for the special ciders. The original cider, the Apple Harvest, is from a recipe dating back to 1670.

Stephen, his mother, and I shared a tasting of 5 ciders:
- The apple harvest,
- the black and blue,
- the cherry bomb,
- the razzmatazz? and
- the apple pie

They were all very good, and Stephen ended up buying a case, because you save a dollar per bottle if you do it. At least we purchased it in Julian, but we could've purchased it at Bevmo or other places like that.

I thought I would like the Harvest, but I end up enjoying the Apple Pie more. The Cherry bomb was very good, and I'm glad we took home a few of those bottles too.

Terrible service, staff don't know much about cider. The cider itself is not even made with Julian apples! Taking the Julian name is dishonest. Additionally, the cider is overly sweet and cloying. There are plenty of other cideries in Julian that make cider from local apples.

We stopped by for a tasting flight and were very pleasantly surprised by the facility, shops, arcade, restaurant and JHC. We shared a flight of six (6) Hard Ciders... not my thing. I’m not a Beer Guy.

Should have stopped at the Wine & Chocolate Tasting Room in the same building.

I found this place on a dog-friendly travel site. It was great for both me and the dog who was presented with a large treat and a lot of love from the young women working there. I ordered the cider flight, which comes with 8 tastes of cider. It's a very generous helping and I had to go next door for tacos before I was able to drive again. Fun little stop with a few gift shops and a pie place with a gorgeous garden down the street. The patio had a band playing 20's style music and people were out there enjoying the Mexican food, cider and sunshine.

I am not a beer fan, so I thought hard cider would be a good alternative.
This location was highly recommended so we stopped after lunch & pie in Julian.
We had an 8 flight of their current selection and half tasted good, half not so much.
Great atmosphere and service, so a good visit in or out of Julian.

I am not a big hard cider fan, but wanted to go here because they have so many different types. There were 4 of us, so we ordered 2 complete flights of all their available ciders. Besides the 8 they normally carry, they had 3 additional ones they were trying out...so 11 tastings!
The business is in a converted building, which houses several places (wine, mead, antiques, taco bar, etc). The cider place was fairly good size, with lots of seating options. We were there on a Tuesday morning, so had the place almost to ourselves.
The employee who served us was friendly, but not over the top. We would have liked to learn more about the process, but he was not a chatty type of guy.
We all ended up liking something, so took 3 bottles home. I am still not a hard cider fan, but glad we went.

I LOVE cider and prefer it over beer, so tell me why I have never been to Julian to have cider flights when I live right here in San Diego??? Well, that silliness is over now and I will be visiting often! I loved every cider, especially Pearanormal and Apple Pie. I of course took some home! Thanks for existing, Julian Hard Cider! You haven't seen the last of me yet! P.S. Staff is super friendly! Yet another reason to visit!
