Such a nice, tranquil location. Some thought provoking art structures, odd, beautiful and everything in between. Google maps gets you there. Donation is the fee. It can get hot, so I had an umbrella to shield me from the sun. A lot of dirt, so...More

If you're in Joshua Tree you have to pass this Museum. It's an easy hour but you can get lost in it for more! They have a site map and I recommend donating at least $5 person

Noah Purifoy's creations are just wonderful- amusing, disturbing, insightful, tongue-in-cheek, opinionated, crafty, harsh, inviting, off-putting, weird. His assemblages are strewn throughout an open area outside of Joshua Tree and it was the non-nature highlight of our trip to Joshua Tree. Walking through this display of...More

This sprawling collection is worth a visit. There are sculptures and structures that make for an engaging experience as you can walk up to, in and around these large pieces.

I think one of the things this is suffering from is that it is falling apart from a lack of up keep and degrading from the weather. It could be considered folk art or it might be considered junk piled together. Art is, after all,...More

When we first arrived at Noah Purifoy's site we were alone. We wandered through his sprawling acres of seemingly endless assemblage art on the desert, mouths agape, with brilliant blue sky as background. It's a crazy, intriguing, impressive collection of work, and everyone will respond...More

At first glance it looks like piles of junk arranged into bizarre sculptures but take the time to wander around and you start to see things. Get the pamphlet at the entrance to the exhibit and you'll have an understanding of this man and the...More

A gem within the beautiful backdrop of Joshua Tree. If you read between the cracks you can see Noah's wonderful messages.

My gut reaction to this place was "how can such assemblages of junk be considered art"? But once you walk through the space you can feel that the "sculptures" have many different messages to convey and were developed with careful thought and care. Unfortunately, I...More

Since this is an unattended, open air exhibit I would imagine one can visit as long as there is enough light to see. I think I remember something like a gate, but nothing that you could be locked out of. Brochures are... More
