Probably good with small kids, it a neat experience to ride the rails pulled by a steam trains. Local tip: Go here on the weekend as they run the steam trains on Saturday. Nothing like riding on a steam train to take you back.

This was an OK outing, but really is best for kids. Knew that going in, so the review is based upon an adult experience. Price a little high for a very short train ride, a single cookie, and a cup of hot chocolate.

We enjoyed seeing the old trains and even though it was a bit like a junkyard in certain areas, it was kind of magical.

I go at least once a year... Usually have a picnic, check out all the historic trains. Go on a stream train ride.

After having been here a number of times I guess I should review it. If you love trains, you will love Railtown. If you love old movies with trains in them, you will love it. Sporting one of the few working roundhouses left in America, this park is living history. I enjoyed a past train ride and at 15 bucks... More

This is a Railway Museum that has links with the movie industry - think Petticoat Junction. The Museum is just on the fringe of the Town and consists of all the old buildings that the Sierra Railway line had as its base in Jamestown. There was a plethora of Railway Volunteers all kitted out in period costume. In fact at... More

My husband and I stayed in Jamestown for a couple nights as a half-way spot between our house and Yosemite. We visited the Railtown 1897 park on our second day. It's a small park, but the volunteers are very knowledgeable and happy to answer any questions you may have. If you visit, make sure to ride the train. Otherwise, I... More
