I enjoy bring my out of town guest here to show them a little history of my little town. Best part is we can do a self guided tour.

This was a productive mine until WW2. It was a hot day, and we wanted to walk around at our own pace, rather than take a tour. Unfortunately, if you don't take a tour, you can't walk around the headframe structure, as it is fenced...More

We have never seen an actual mine. There is so much to see outside. There are many plaques to read about what each item is. The gift shop had some really nice things for sale along with some really good historical books. The inside museum...More

This is an interesting place to visit when you are in Jackson and have some time. You'll learn about the miner's lives and you can try panning for gold.

I highly recommend this visit. All three classes of 4th graders were mesmerized by the outstanding docents! What a gem!

My kids loved the gold panning the best. A very informed docent described the mine and showed the displays. He gave the kids great tips on how to find their gold. They came home with smiles and great experiences at the Kennedy Gold Mine.

The tours are very informative. You get to walk among the old tavern that seems to be just left the way it was 70 years ago. Interesting!
