Interesting stop on our recent road trip. Huge old wooden wheels give a glimpse into the mining past of this scenic area. Well worth checking out if in the area.

It is a small park but there is gold rush history there with the HUGE water wheel. I enjoy history and how things were built back then. They have one wheel laying on the ground and they rebuilt another one. Just the time and effort...More

Definitely worth a stop. There was not a guide when we visited, but very much enjoyed reading about and seeing the Tailing Wheels. One has completely collapsed, and the other is housed in a building to preserve it.

Don't miss the wheels on the other side of the road from the parking lot. One still standing - but maybe not for long. One collapsed under its own weight.

Great stop on a trip through the gold country. It will take an hour at the most to see the entire exhibit. Suitable for families with small children and aging adults. Pretty amazing sight when you consider the time period and the engineering and skill...More

The size of the enclosed wheel (Wheel #4) gives you a glimpse of the size of the operation here. If this was one of four wheels the complex was enormous. Make sure you go to the top of the hill and see the dam for...More
