Seems Like It's Still In Development

Went to the Park on Saturday at 4pm. One of the main roads into the park is closed, so had to take a detour. Lots of construction going on along the road to the park. We ended... read more

Unfortunately after many many years and a lot of money spent, the Great Park has little to show for it. I went there with a friend from Iowa who said it reminded him of the barren fields back home. So much promise for what could have been; all that's needed are some lakes. trees. and walkways and this truly could... More

I've been to the Great Park three times now, and it gets better every time! Originally, it was pretty sparsely populated, but now they've added music, interesting facts, and a big hot air balloon! This is a great activity for anyone who enjoys being outdoors and wants a fun, relaxing day or evening out.

Thanks to the NIMBYs, this ideal place for an international airport is just an excuse to develop more housing. The Great Park is a joke. Practically none of the ideas shown on elaborate landscape architectural renderings were actually completed. The public was duped.

This farmers market has a handful of produce vendors, a few food trucks, and then an assorted collection of vendors selling crafts. I would say the craft-sellers outnumber the produce vendors. For a much better selection of produce check out the Irvine Farmers Market on Saturdays (5001 Newport Coast Drive). Park is still under construction so it feels like you're... More

The Orange Balloon ride was quite nice, no winds, cool weather and rather serene and surreal when you float up high. It looks like you are looting down on a toy city, even with the train chugging by below, and planes coming in for landing. The ballon can get a little lopsided if everyone is standing on one side. It's... More

I had been to this park to take a ride in the hot air balloon. After a long walk in sun i reached near the balloon when i realized that the balloon wont fly because of Wind. Miles and bare land and a carousal - nothing else in the Great park ....Phewwwww!!

We loved coming here when it was free to ride the orange balloon and the Carousel. They also used to offer free family fitness classes. A few years ago their New Year event was a great place for families to go to to celebrate especially with children. They no longer offer those things for free. But they still offer the... More
