Tahoe' Nautical History

This is a great added attraction to West Shores ambiance. The museum boasts wonderful displays chronicling the Lake's nautical history. Highly recommend and great for the kids.

We went on a Sunday and just happened to make a wrong turn and run into it. My husband saw the sign for Ghost Ships. I had seen it listed on TripAdvisor and thought it would be nice to visit. Would have been a shame if we had missed it! Everything was very clean and seemed brand new. Hap interactive... More

Easily the best source of information and history of boating on Lake Tahoe, this spot is worth a look! They rotate the exhibits, because it's not very large, but that makes it a great fit for a quick family stop between beaches, meals, etc. The museum is also affiliated with a larger facility in Truckee that displays more items.

We really learned a lot about boating history on Lake Tahoe and also attempts to keep water free of pollution from boats. The museum is fairly new and has some gorgeously restored boats. it is almost across from the Sunrise so a good place for after you have a nice meal.
