Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Avoid this pretentious tasting room. Many years ago this was a good experience, but not anymore. The wine is very inconsistent, usually mediocre, often terrible and rarely decent. BUT the real reason to stay away is the tasting room staff. They are arrogant, rude and could care less about customers. It is a moneymaking mill of a machine to these people and they treat people that way. This is without a doubt the worst experience in Sonoma. If the wine was great I might be able to look past the reprehensible staff but it’s usually mediocre at best!

I picked Truett Hurst primarily because they opened at 10 am, and I am really glad we ended up there! We did the $5 tasting and got to taste 10 wines. I was very happy with the wines and ended up buying a bottle to bring home. The prices were not terribly high for a grad student! They served cheese and crackers with the tasting, and ginger cookies for one of them. Throughout the tasting we were able to wander around the grounds, which were great! There is a fabulous patio overlooking the garden and farmlands. Tons of flowers were blooming in the garden, and there were goats and chickens wandering around beyond the fence in the farm. Down by the creek there are chairs set up. It sounds like typically you need to reserve the creek-side seats in advance, but because we went early in the day we were able to spend some time down there before anyone else arrived. The woman leading our tasting was very knowledgeable and did a great job answering all our questions. It was truly a pleasure to spend a few hours tasting at Truett Hurst, and I would recommend it to anyone visiting Healdsburg.

We had been assured this was a family friendly winery, but from the moment we arrived, we felt very unwelcome. We aren't sure if this had to do with the color of my husband's skin (this was our immediate gut feeling) or the fact that we had two children with us (8 and 11) or both. Either way, we should have just left, but we stayed for the tasting. The woman was so busy giving us all the rules of the property that she didn't even get around to describing most of the wines she poured. We watched her interact with other guests and she was much more engaged and friendly/warm with them. It was definitely us she wasn't interested in serving. The owner was pointed out to us, but the woman was busy setting up for an event while her little dog ran around off-leash (one of the many rules that was told to us - even though we didn't even have a dog) and didn't have any interest in engaging with any guests or greeting them, thanking them for coming, or even simply smiling or making eye contact. So it wasn't surprising that the employees weren't happy to serve whoever came through the door. It pained me to pay for this horrible experience. It did allow for a good conversation with our children about racism and poor customer service.

the Russian River. Wine, cheese and crackers with a great view right on the river/creek. The atmosphere was just what we needed-beautiful, calm and refreshing.

This trip to "wine country" was all about visiting smaller wineries with great wines and beautiful scenery. This one did not disappoint! The wines were great and sitting out by Dry Creek was so serene with a wonderful glass of wine. Could have stayed all day!

What a treat we were turned on too by my son who works at another winery (VJB) in the area. Truett Hurst is going to be on our regular stop forever when visiting Healdsburg. Had a great time with Sal, who was fun, patient and knowledgeable. The Burning-man Petite is the best. If you didn't read the label you'd think it was a Zin! I stocked up.......
The grounds outside the tasting room are perfectly manicured and the gardens and animals thereafter are a "Kick". But the real deal are the red Adirondack chairs next to the creek just a short walk out of the tasting room. So calm, serene and beautiful. You may want to stay out of the water though. Rumor has it that Game Wardens hide out and give tickets to those not in the know. Grab a sandwich in town before you make it out there and enjoy yourself. Don't miss this place!
P.S. Parents: Tell your kids not to pick the fruit or flowers so others after them, can enjoy them, thanks.

Come here with lunch, picnic by the creek, and indulge in Zins and other wines. Our experience was great. We tasted what seemed like all the wines and they were all quite wonderful. Anthony, our host, was friendly and helpful. This is a must visit along Dry Creek.

Truett-Hurst was a great place to grab a glass of wine and enjoy their lovely setting whether it be watching the goats, sitting by the gardens or head on down by the river and have a picnic. Life doesn't get much better than this!

Wines were not very complex and tasted young. The facility was pound even though it was not crowded. The grounds are beautiful. It's a good place to stop and take a break by the creek.

Friendly and relaxed atmosphere, without any pretentious attitude that can be found at others nearby. The tasting was relaxed and enjoyable. And now we are back in the UK we have cracked open the Black Sheep red, and it is STUNNING! We are now working out how we can get some of this back to the UK as it goes down so smooth for a red, with those bacon undertones, that the bottle was empty far too quickly! Will definitely head back here next time, and spend some time down by the peaceful creek and enjoy a glass or two more!

One comment is that they credited the wine tasting against a purchase, which was great, and they were alone in doing this on our tour which surprised me, and means I will somehow become a loyal UK customer.
