Went to watch the sunset, brought our chairs. It is cold and windy despite summer or Indian summer. Since we were there after 6pm, there were lots of parking and not too busy.

Nice place, clean and accessible. But if you like more spacoius beach, try another one. That's beautiful but overcrowded. Also there's a limited parking space.

My favorite place in California is Half Moon Bay, the beach, the pace of life & its beauty all packed into one beautiful place. It's truly a wonderful experience that I would highly recommend

The signs say no swimming or wading. There are some big waves. We stood on beach playing a little in waves. The highlight was seeing a humpback whale two afternoons. It hung out for awhile. We also saw seal. Beach was clean.

visited here with family of 11. Paved walkway around the Bay, plenty of seating and tables, some under shady trees. Sandy white beach. Great waves - but also dangerous rips. Still exciting to watch and hear the waves roar and crash and spray. Seagulls, starlings,...More

We had sailed past and into the harbour the afternoon before so got a chance to walk out and view from the land on Labor Day Sunday. The swell seemed big from the ocean but only created small waves over the near reef where two...More

This beach is breathtaking. There is easy access to the beach and a paved walking path up above. There's lots of lawn space for cookouts and gatherings.

This is a camping beach so many of the people there were staying at the campground next to parking lot. Even though there were a lot of people, we still found parking and could walk the beach. The sand drops off so dramatically, the waves...More

Walk along the edge and watch the waves crash below... Sit on one of the many benches and take in the sunset. Locals walk with their kids and dogs....family and couple friendly. Clean bathrooms. I only wish I lived here to be able to take...More

I stayed at the Half Moon Bay campground about a mile south of the center of town. At that point the sandy beach is about a hundred feet below a bluff. Going north there is a trail along the bluff for a half mile or so. Then... More

The walk-in sites are within 50 yards of parking. There is one small parking area at that corner of the campground that is for the exclusive use of tent campers. If you go to Google Earth it will take you to Dunes Beach... More
