We stayed at our favorite Ritz in Half Moon Bay. The views are some of the best in the world! From the steps overlooking the coast line, to the beach itself, it's hard to describe the natural beauty. Bring your camera and enjoy your photos!
Those who have difficulty walking can drive up and see the ocean, beach and surf. Sunset was nice. There is a campground that looked ok. On a December weekday there was no fee to park and only a few people around. Nice.

This is a very quiet, clean beach which is well worth a visit. Because of the location it is breezy to say the least and the waves can be quite strong. The brown sand is soft on the feet and you get a good view...More
The bay was clean, waves were strong, and sites spectacular. Mother Nature was on point when this beach was made.
Parking for the beach was $10 but the view was worth it. Your next to the ocean so bring a jacket in case of wind...More

I stayed at the Half Moon Bay campground about a mile south of the center of town. At that point the sandy beach is about a hundred feet below a bluff. Going north there is a trail along the bluff for a half mile or so. Then you are at the level of the sand beach. I have not gone north of the beach area just south of town., so I don't know exactly how it unfolds going north of there. I have driven along that area going to the harbor north of town, but I didn't take notice of the situation along the water. That could be where the pebbly beach is. I suggest Googling the visitors bureau of Half Moon Bay and see if they can help you.
