I live in the bay area and this is the closest place for me to experience a serene evening and a beautiful sunset.

We stayed at our favorite Ritz in Half Moon Bay. The views are some of the best in the world! From the steps overlooking the coast line, to the beach itself, it's hard to describe the natural beauty. Bring your camera and enjoy your photos!

Long wide. At low tide lots of mussels to pick when in season. And when the waves are high look towards Mavericks

Loved the quiet and the isolation...and the absolutely breathtaking view! This is a beautiful beach. Worth the drive and the trip!

Those who have difficulty walking can drive up and see the ocean, beach and surf. Sunset was nice. There is a campground that looked ok. On a December weekday there was no fee to park and only a few people around. Nice.

A good place for novice surfers and swimmers, with parking for quite a number of cars along highway #1

Lovely drive - go there early morning and see the local market on the weekends. For lunch drive to the Ritz and enjoy a meal at one of their restaurants.

This is a very quiet, clean beach which is well worth a visit. Because of the location it is breezy to say the least and the waves can be quite strong. The brown sand is soft on the feet and you get a good view...More

The bay was clean, waves were strong, and sites spectacular. Mother Nature was on point when this beach was made. Parking for the beach was $10 but the view was worth it. Your next to the ocean so bring a jacket in case of wind...More

No free parking near the beach. But plenty of free road side parking available -depending on time of day. Daytime lot of parking available on roadside along the houses.

I stayed at the Half Moon Bay campground about a mile south of the center of town. At that point the sandy beach is about a hundred feet below a bluff. Going north there is a trail along the bluff for a half mile or so. Then... More
