Great history and beautiful views. Must see!

We stayed in Half Moon Bay and drove the Pacific Coast Highway. Glad we stopped here to see the light house grounds and learned a little history. The views are amazing!!!

Seeing the lighthouse from the highway just tells you to turn and visit. Parking no problem on our visit. A short walk to the cliff side and a bench to sit and relax. The view of the lighthouse and rough shoreline is indescribable. Such beauty and strength in one spot. The freezing winds made it even more magnificent Maybe hot... More

The lighthouse and grounds are very well kept and a beautiful setting and views. There was docent there dressed as an old light-houseman telling stories of the history of the lighthouse. It was there during the civil war and soldiers from the south tried to sabotage the lighthouse so Northern ships would crash into the rocks. Believe me, he has... More

The strangest thing is that we stopped at this beach specifically based on Trip Advisor reviews-- but we couldn't find the lighthouse at all. We ended up wandering around the paths that line the golf course and sat in the adirondack chairs outside of the Ritz for a while, but there was no lighthouse in sight. We were disappointed-- maybe... More

Stop at the lighthouse to wander for a bit. You'll get a brief lesson in history and some of the most beautiful views on the coast. I agree the hostel is a little odd here, and we would never stay, but it is worth the time to get some great photos and rejuvenate.

Good stop for history buffs. A great spot for taking photos. On a nice day, take a lunch. All types of weather provide completely different perspectives

We thought this would be a 5 or 10 minute stop. We stayed almost an hour. Lighthouse not operable, but makes for good photos. Beautiful scenery and coastline photo opportunities.

This is a must stop if you are in the area. While the lighthouse is undergoing renovation, there are walking paths with sweeping views of the ocean. Pack a lunch and sit for a while to enjoy the view.

We drive from Half Moon here and this is an odd place. Youth hostel sits right on what has to be some of the most beautiful and expensive real estate on the planet. Hostel looked pretty grungy. View amazing.
