Cool to see

Even though the conditions were bad, it was still cool to see where epic waves form. Wish it could have been better conditions though. Easy access and parking.

We went to this beach because we knew that Maevricks is famous for huge waves and an annual surfing championship. We walked on the beach but discovered the surfing waves are two miles out so we couldn't see them from land. You can't climb up the hill because it's an Air Force location and off limits. We did see some... More

We were in HMB and after having lunch at HMB Brewing Company, our server showed us how to get to the point on a map. A short drive takes you to the trail head parking lot. A short easy walk along the beach brings you to the point where you can see the huge waves at Mavericks.

In town and hoping to see Mavericks, but storm in the way. Love this competition and the overall town. Best wave, we were lucky to see from the bluff years ago which left a lasting great memory!

A nice hike to Mavericks break from the parking lot. Saw some surfers and enjoyed watching the waves crash. Wouldn't dare to try swimming in it, at least not the day we went.

Definitely fun to make a trip here and see the wave. Really net if you actually have an appreciation for surfing, big wave surfing, Titans of Mavericks and the sport as it has developed. There are pretty easy paths you can walk down on the bay side of up to the bluffs and look down. The parking seems to get... More

This is a fun little beach right that is easily accessible. It is definitely worth checking out as an iconic beach that hosts the Mavericks surf competition most winters depending on when the right storm creates the swells needed. There is a small parking lot that fills up quickly with additional parking on the road an additional 1/4 mile away.... More

Mavericks is a tricky one to sum up because it is very difficult to see the wave. In times past one could stand on the cliff tops but there is a security fence now that stops that. We loved the sense of power and drama coming from the area, reminded me of Margaret River mainbreak on a huge day. Go... More

Went on Christmas Eve, the wind was howling so the surf was raging. Beautiful beach and very well maintained area, even though not surf season. Nice parking lot and porta-potties available.

It's such a great short trail. Walking past the marsh and wetland and looking for critters is fun in it's self. It was high tide when we there so be very careful when you get to the beach!! If sneaker waves. Low tide is best.
