First time visitor to Empire Mine. It was delightful and educational. Our children and grandchildren enjoyed the tour which included many historical facts. We loved the grounds and the docents

We arrived at the park interested to learn about California's gold mining past, and we were not disappointed. Extensive well kept grounds and buildings make this a well worth stop. Great displays in the museum provide a good history of the mine and the people...More

Great value for the admission price! Informative and interesting exhibits in the small museum. The extra small price for the tour of the cottage is so worth it. The volunteers who do it do a fabulous job. Try to go around the mine works yard...More

This place has such beautifully kept grounds. While we were visiting the roses were still in full bloom and could be smelt for hundreds of feet away. Absolutely breathtaking!

This combined science, history, old homes and gardens all at once. Take the tour of the home and grounds, followed by the tour of the mine facilities- both were excellent. We enjoyed wandering the grounds and identifying the many exotic trees from around the world...More

There is great history here, but I don't think small children would be enthralled, but wouldn't be bummed either. Check for tour times and try to avoid the weekends.
