We have lived near here for 35 years and our bluegrass band plays every year for their yearly pancake breakfast fundraiser. This is a great place to experience California history of gold mining. Docents do a very good job explaining how the stamp mill worked...More

We checked out the Park recently and will definitely come back for a camping trip. So much history and scenic beauty. Campground is tucked deep into the park. Great for hikes.

Take the 1.3 mile 4 wheel drive up to Eureka Lake and enjoy a picnic by the water...no one will be there except you and nature. Then be sure to wear comfortable shoes and make the hike up to the peak. The trail takes you...More

A great museum with buildings left over from the mining days. When docents are there, they have the Assay office and Blacksmith's area open. History abounds in the museum. A working model stamp mill too! Gold panning for kids, hiking trails and a campground.

We had a day of rain while staying at Gray Eagle Lodge. The museum at Plumas-Eureka State Park was a great indoor destination. The black- smith demonstration was fantastic and kept the kids mesmerized for over an hour.

I like this campground because it has nice sized campsites. It's kept up and I've never been bothered by noisy neighbors. Now I could have been just lucky but still. The area around the park is so diverse if you are a nature lover or...More
