Carignane, Cinsaut, Counoise, Grenache, Grenache Blanc, Mourvedre, Syrah, Viognier and Rhone Blends. While the other kids played cowboys and Indians, Bill Frick played winery. After visiting a winery when 8, Bill had caught the wine bug. Frick Winery began in 1976 with proceeds from the sale of a 1957 Chevrolet. Bill employs honest traditional methods. Making wines naturally, with hand harvest, punching the cap by hand, bucketing skins, no fining or filtering, small oak aging. These practices produce wines that are remarkably complex and honest to the grape. Bill says, "Wine is about the grape. My goal is to show the unique character of each grape variety, vineyard and vintage in every bottle."

I like to visit Frick any time that I'm in the area. It is such a sweet spot and the wines are made with grapes that you may not have heard of before such as Cinsaut and Counaise.

Bill Frick is quite a special person. A guy that "does it my way," Bill is still someone you need to meet and talk with. Very special wines. We bought several.
