Beautiful views
May 2020
Beautiful hike, I like that you can take a longer hike to reach the summit if you climb the back of the Peak. With Kids, it took us 7 hours from the parking lot to the summit and back by going up the back trail. We later returned and took the shorter but more strenuous trail to the top from the front of the peak. This took 3 hours to complete from parking lot to summit and back.

Exceeded my expectations.

I sure will visit again. I did noticed that there are few (should be more) mature trees, I am assuming due to previous fire ??? Looking at the soil, it has suffered tremendously.
I enjoyed the entire hike, quite educational with some of the gardening and culturing techniques. I highly recommend to take your entire family.

Gorgeous Views from Mission Peak
Jul. 2020
This is a nice uphill hike (and of course down again) to Mission PeaK. Once one gets to the top there are gorgeous views. There is a parking lot on Stanford Avenue where the hike begins.

Raise your fearless game! Reach the top!
Aug. 2019
Mission Peak's/MP's another most recommended place to hike! MP create moments that take your breath away! So have no fear, Just Nike/Do It! Nothing will be impossible for you!
If you're with others climbing MP it's hard to know how long it'll take you/yourself to climb it to the top. 1st climb, I think I was 55 yrs old. I was scared of heights, though, I did ride all the roller coasters@Great America, Santa Cruz & other amusement parks. 1st climb@MP, I stopped coz I was too scared. A senior guy noticed me & told me that I am almost there! I was & my 1st time to reach the top! 8/13/19 at almost 59 years old, I climbed MP again! I even climbed the pole! I was scared but held the pole w/1hand! A hiker said & that's your 1st time (close to those words)?

Great View!
Dec. 2019
If you are one for a hike, then this is the place. After getting up the hill, which is not that difficult, you will have an amazing view of the whole area. There is some interesting history around the area if you want to look it up, from wine to war.

Beautiful and demanding hike!
Dec. 2019
The Mission Peak hike is a marvelous local hike that costs you nothing but time and some calories. You can park at the Stanford Street entrance or Ohlone College. You may see hang gliders floating on currents as well as a variety of birds. You will very likely see great views. Take water, snacks and pack your patience as going the top may be a bigger effort than you anticipated.

Superb hike

This was my first climb up this mountain and boy oh boy did it remind me of our Famous Tirumala 7 Hills. Being a ameture climber of mountains, I really found the going hard, especially since it has been a while I scaled any mountain ie it was about 3 years ago, when I had climbed the Tirumala Hills.

But unlike the Tirumala, where there are proper steps and road, the Mission Peak has no Thar Road and is full of sand, dust and stones. In fact, closer the peak, there is no proper path way at all but only small rocks, which made my acsent, even more difficult and arduous.

I had to stop a few times and rest for a while enroute to the peak. While It was clearly a struggle, once I reached the Peak, all the pain and sweat was forgotten in a giffy. The view from the Top was quite astonishing. You could see the entire Fremont city from the Top as well as few small mountain peaks, valleys and a couple of river streams.

Having scaled the peak, I thought that the worst part of my trek was over, but to my chagrin, I had to face a much daunting task while walking back down. Controlling my body and my walking pace during the decsent was even more challenging and I was just looking forward for my trek to end ASAP.

While I failed to time my walk up, I remembered the time that I had started my Trek up and the entire round trip took me about 4 hours & 40 mins, which included a few stopovers (about 20 mins in all) on my to the top and a 10 minute rest atop the Peak.

All in all, it was my 1st trek after a gap of 6 years in the US and I am very happy I did it, although it would have been great, if I had the company of my wonderful Spouse 🙏 Well, maybe there will a next time with her, after all 😊

What a thrill
Nov. 2019 • Couples
I must say it is a little bored since there is barely any shade during the entire hike and almost all the way being uphill
However, once you get to the top , the thrill is real
It takes us 3 and half hour round trip, around 20000 steps
