Went last night for the final ride of the season. Great dinner. There is a museum with old train artifacts. There is a 20 minute ride into the woods while they tell you all about the different types of trees, the logging and railroad history. A the stop off there is a 30 minute campfire sing along where everyone has... More

The location in the pines is the first thing you see. The rustic buildings, museum, book store, gift shop and small café are the best. You take all this in and then #10 Steam Locomotive comes around the corner and the ground shakes. The steam and shear magnitude of the engine will make you stand in awe. The ride on... More

Wow what an unexpected find whilst staying in Oakhurst, fantastic steam loco, used to be used as a logging train back in the day, we sat on the log seats which were great, it's an hour ride with plenty of narration and very interesting, very reasonable too only $24 each, if your near by be sure to visit especially if... This is one of a few places where you can see the Shays - a geared locomotive. On the right side of the train, there are hundreds of gears turning in all different direction when the train is moving which I believe is an amazing sight and can attract a lot of children. The train ride through the tranquil of... More

Nice little place has a museum, gift store, eatery etc. Was a very fun family experience and educational. The guide enthusiastically shared his historical knowledge of the railroad.

This train ride through the sugar pine forest is a fun way to spend an hour. The scenery is lovely. The train itself is a great piece of history and it's cool to learn about the logging history of the area. The narration throughout the train ride is filled with great information about the trains and about how the logging... More

It was nice and quiet due to the school holidays Beautiful weather to be travelling in an open carriage behind a steam train. The commentary was informative Food was pleasant Good variety of goods to purchase Museum was very good!

Its a fun 2 hour activity in fish camp if you have time to spare. The slow moving train takes you through the tress and mountain while narrating the history of the area.
