Once you enter the shop, just stop and take a long look around the complete room and ceiling. This is NOT the usual tourist area shop. I have seen many blacksmith shops but this is very, very different. Real imagination. Hangers of every size and shape. Kitchen and BBQ utensils that are beautiful and functional. Custom kitchen knives made from... More

interesting pieces of art/work. Very well displayed. Looked like they have a live workshop where you could see them working on the newer pieces. Their expo a few doors down is also worth a visit.

The Blacksmith shop and the Mercantile are my 2 favorite places to visit. Both of these stores are a cornerstone of Ferndale. I look forward to visiting them each trip

Handmade metal items, gifts, knives etc. Check it out, you don't see local artisans like this everywhere.

Whenever I'm in Humboldt County, I try to visit The Blacksmith Shop in Ferndale. I have many of their little towel hooks, which I like to use as decorations, several candle sticks, and a beautiful salad server set made by them. The items are very well made, of the highest quality, and are beautiful to me. It is one of... More

This place was very very cool. It was a nice place to just walk around and look at stuff. And the craftsmanship of these pieces are amazing. From very big pieces to little door knockers. I would have snatched up some of the handcrafted work but we didn't have space for the pieces I wanted. So worth a look!

There is actually a blacksmith on site in this very interesting shop. Many of his creations (from hooks to sculpture) are on display. He will also take orders for special items.

Whole town is very peaceful and fun to be in. This shop has all kinds of things made by a blacksmith. There wasn't one there when we were there but it looked like there was a nice place to have someone set up going for it.

Beautiful crafstmanship by many different artists. There were many pieces that were way beyond my means ($$$) but there were just as many that were reasonably priced. Large assortment of jewelry and other hand crafted items.
