Put on your dancing shoes! The first Friday evening of every month, from 7:00 to 9:30, the Moonlight Serenade Orchestra takes you back to the big bands and ballrooms of the 1930s and 1940s. Hear favorites from Glenn Miller, Benny Goodman, Duke Ellington, Count Basie, and more. Tunes range from swing and foxtrot to latin rhythms, the occasional rock or disco, and even a polka. Dress up or come casual - you'll fit right in.

I book talent for performances at an over-55 community in San Diego County. This was the most professional and entertaining group we have ever had. Singer and emcee Ed introduced each song and brought the audience in when he introduced members of the band. TheMSO was just an ideal vendor. People are still talking about this delightful event. They made... More

A Thursday evening at Lucky Star, beginning with a good Chinese dinner and followed by the Big Band music of the Moonlight Serenade Orchestra, is most enjoyable. Ballroom and Latin dancers will have an even better time, as Lucky Star has a dance floor, too. With or without the dancing, an evening with MSO is highly recommended.

They also play a scattering of modern songs arranged in a Big Band style. Even a rock-and-roll song once in a while. But predominantly Swing Era music and old standards. You have to pay $7 per... Thanks for the kind words and glowing review of the band. Unfortunately, the Lucky Star Chinese Restaurant has gone out of business. However, The Moonlight Serenade Orchestra continues playing Big Band music on Thursdays. now at Tango Del Rey in Pacific Beach, same hours (7:00 to 9:30) as before. Cover charge is now $10, but there is no minimum. Come... More

If you're a fan of Big Band music, and/or if you love to dance, The Moonlight Serenade Orchestra at the Lucky Star Restaurant every Thursday night is the place to be! They play all the wonderful classic tunes, together with more contemporary Latin and popular dance music. It's rare to be able to dance to a Big Band that really... More

We most certainly recommend the Moonlight Serenade orchestra at the Lucky Star restaurant. We enjoy the good music provided by the band and we love to watch the various dancers as the orchestra plays different kinds of music catered to the dancers. Food is good but the music is great!!!

If you are looking for the sounds of the big band era along with a big dance floor...then check out the scene at the Lucky Star.
