Salt Creek Beach

We watched a USA Surfing competition at this beach. HUGE waves - lots of fun! Beautiful beach - great spot to take photos.

We wanted to go to Thousand Steps Beach, but we didn't see the entrance for it, so we ended up at Salt Creek Beach Park. It's by the Ritz Carton, and there's a huge parking lot in front of the beach that charges $1 per hour. The beach was nice but not the prettiest. The fact that it was cloudy... More

Although we were there in the winter, the die hard surfers never give up! this area was still teaming with surfers eager to catch the big one, and there was plenty of action to watch, great for phtographers looking for that great surfing shot. The beach was clean and well patrolled, I dont forsee any issues in having a n... More

I like his beach because you can picnic in the park or go on a walk or bike ride. They had a basketball court and picnic tables for use. This is a very clean park with nice views of the coastline and Ritz Carlton.

Gorgeous views and setting, Great waves. You need to park at the top of the hill and hike down to the beach. The hill is fairly steep going down to the beach, coming up its even steeper. :-) There is a grassy area with pavilion and park benches above the beach, great place to have a picnic. There is a... We stay every year to celebrate New Years at the Monarch Beach Resort (formerly St. Regis) and love to take long walk in the beach for our toddler and can walk back up via trail to the hotel. You can walk to the bay club beach restaurant as well. Very relaxing. TIP: they have a public parking lot that tends... More

Walked down from the carpark, average beach and swimming. Spoilt by Aussie beaches I guess. Ok for a surfer and better scenically than a lot of Cal beaches but nothing special.

This beach is active but not crowded in November. There was a Santa surfing competition that drew many colorful surfers and fans. It is a nice beach area with a wonderful walking path along the oceanside. THere is also a large green park area for lounging and play that is overlooking the beach.

Been going here for 40 years and still a beautiful experience. Perfect sand! Good waves and usually not terribly crowded. Great for families. Easy to get to. Stairs or a gondola if walking a problem.
