The downtown area is generally busy with lots of car traffic and tourists. A handful of overpriced tourist shops and food joints.

We went to downtown Coronado.Its a fun place to explore with cafes, stores, and is close to one of the nicest beaches in California.

Although most shops focus on beachwear, at least they're not chain stores. There's a decent variety of restaurants, shops, and cafes.

Love walking up and down the Coronado downtown area and purchasing products from the stores. We ate at the Panera Bread co about 8 times durning a 7 day visit.

Coronado has a nice small town area with some great shops/restaurant. If you are staying on the island take the free summer shuttle around. Saves on trying to find a parking space. Town has a nice feel about it

We enjoyed every aspect of our trip to Coronado. What a delightful, walkable city. The hotel was great. The food was great.

We stayed at the Del from Sunday till Thursday and walked almost everyday some place. beautiful- safe- clean and well maintained. looking at the beach- shopping or sightseeing the lovely homes it is all worth a walk or 2.

The walk through downtown is a fun way to spend an afternoon. Plenty of shops to explore and resturants to try -all in a combination home town/ touristy environment . The islsnd also has 2 good grocery stores if you want to cook your own...More
