- 1VictoriaTheTravelerSacramento, California768 contributionsLovely beach! My husband and I visited Carmel Beach on Sunday March 24th and the afternoon was gorgeous. The beaches are clean and fully of lovely people with their dogs running about. The waves are powerful and I would not recommend swimming here (signage said the same). But absolutely lovely beach for a good day and walk.Visited March 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 25 March 2024
- Odyssey200118606 contributionsGreat Beach in CarmelThis is a beautiful beach with plenty of views and room to walk, explore and enjoy. The parking lot can fill quickly so if you arrive late or in season expect to spend some time circling and searching for a spot. This is a great beach for swimming but always watch for waves, currents and surfers in the area. After you’re done there’s a great variety of restaurants for a lite bite or full meal close by. Definitely add to your itinerary if you’re in the area or plan on going.Visited March 2024Travelled with familyWritten 17 June 2024

The trek down to the beach is pretty steep so if you have a cart or wagon beware coming back up is tough. Great beach to spread out.Visited June 2024Travelled with familyWritten 20 June 2024
- roy vTraralgon, Australia5,935 contributionsLots of sand and lovely waterThe day we spent on Carmel Beach was very nice weather wise. Nearly impossible to get a car park anywhere near the beach, eventually we found one on a little side street close to the beach. Best to arrive early as Carmel is a very popular town. The water was terrific, just right for the young Grandson to play with his boogie board, nice and safe, very busy. Keep your eye on your kids especially when their in the waterVisited July 2024Travelled with familyWritten 5 July 2024

I've loved Carmel Beach all my life...the soft white sand, the hill sloping down to the water, the views of Pebble Beach Golf Course at the far end. Most people seemed to be conscious of staying respectful distances from each other and since the beach is so big it was easy to do.

Great beach. Long and wide with plenty of room for everyone. Public toilets are available. Parking is a little tough, but we walked from our hotel about 15 min. The sand is super soft and feels great on your toes!

We got there early, there were parking places. Restrooms were clean. People watch, dog watch. Enjoyed watching the waves.

This dog beach is truly an off leash beach. All the dogs have such a great time. It's a big beach so there is plenty of room. The dog owners love this beach just as much. There are shops and restaurants in walking distance.
