Absolutely beautiful scenery. Pack some good shoes to walk down from the street and some others to swamp into for the beach. Parking is probably the only difficult part of the entire experience. Everything else was fantastic.

We visited around mid-morning. The beach was not crowded. The views were spectacular. The local trees are gorgeous.

Walked the Scenic Road Walkway to here. The beach is very nice and unlike Carmel Bay it was not crowded (maybe just got lucky?) and there was no steep hill to walk up or down to access the beach. There were restrooms.

After we walked along the walkway, we headed over to the beach area and were floored as to how vast the beach is. There were a few people playing catch and some kids building castles but that was about it. There were many birds out...More

Our little kids loved playing in the sand. While the Pacific shore is very windy, this alcove of a beach is tolerable. No swimming. Bathrooms make it even better for young families. Views are terrific!!

I wasn't looking for a dog beach so they were more of a nuisance, but this beach was conveniently located near the shops in Carmel. I was a little disappointed because I was looking for a more picturesque beach. Wish we had tried a different...More

Driving down to this spot you wouldn't think you'll get to a large beach spot like we found. The road leading to it is narrow, residential and hilly. If I wasn't looking at my GPS map, I would have never guessed that it is a...More

This is a beach area that underwent some improvements in a recent years. Parking remains small, but waterline moved farther away. You will need to walk on the sand may be 1/4 mile (or less) before reaching water.

The small (only 2 individual spaces) restroom is next to the beach parking lot. You can not miss it if you park at the Carmel River beach parking lot. Can get busy at the time.... the line is not unusual there.
