Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Others have mentioned the apple fritters wich are as good as they claim, but I am partial to their pies. The Dutch Apple and Apple/berry pies are favorites. The location is charming with a view to vineyards and the defunct mill, and the grounds are nicely kept.

Apple cider donuts are a must. Go early because they will run out by about 2pm or 3pm. Waiting for a fresh batch is worth it. They melt.

We only had time for one stop on Apple Hill. I chose this one for its 'Kidstown,' a collection of miniature buildings & playground elements, that I thought my kids would like. I wasn't expecting much, but IT WAS AMAZING. At least 10 different "town" buildings: a jail, a candy store, a school, a church, etc. Plus swings, a teeter-totter, small climbing structures, a maze, some vehicles to play with, a pirate ship, and plenty of benches for Moms and Dads! This place LITERALLY could've entertained my 9- and 5-year-olds for the whole day. We will definitely be coming back!
The pies are awesome, too! We came in early November, so there was almost no one there, and a smaller selection of food available. But we've already devoured the apple sour cream blueberry pie that we brought home, and I wish we'd bought another. A self-professed local arrived as we were arriving, and she raved about the place, claiming they had the cheapest pies on Apple Hill by 10%. I can't verify that, as this was our first trip to Apple Hill, and I'm sure there are lots of great places. But the pies here are awesome and Kidstown is wonderful. Already planning next year's trip!

We stopped here all the time for our favorite apple donuts, but since it has changed hands, I found the inside to have a different feel.
I don't think there is anything terrible about it, but I liked the friendliness and coziness of the previous.
If you haven't been here before, make a stop and determine for yourself because there is plenty to enjoy here.

We go up to Apple Hill every year, usually to the same places. This year we decided to start a new tradition of each year going to a new place that we've never been to. The tradition began with our first stop at Mill View Ranch. This will definitely be one of our regular haunts. First of all, if you go for nothing else, the view is worth the stop. It was a bit early for lunch or we would have tried the food on the very nice menu. Plenty to do, crafts, kids activities, and all of the normal apple ranch stuff. Very nice place, we'll be back.

This is not one of the big, pony rides and craft fairs places.
It's small and you go for only 1 reason, the apple pies and apple related tasty treats.
So before heading home after a long day on the hill, this is where to stop to get the pie to take home. They, I'm told make many of the pies for other apple orchards on tour, but they are just simply delicious.
Make it the last stop, or first and save some appetite.

Visited Mill View Ranch today for the first time with my grandkids ages 2 and 4 and this place was perfect for them. They have a little village called Kids Town with kids size storefronts, swings, slide, and room to run and play. There is an onsite gift store, cafe and deli for food and drinks including apple pie and cider. The weather is perfect in early October but come weekends I'm sure it gets busy. I saw several areas that are used for local merchants on the weekends where you can buy hand crafted items.

Thought we would try a few new place this year and our first stop was Mill View Ranch. Loved the kids area--so much to see and do(swings, city buildings, maze, slide). They had a nice area with tables and cutouts to take pictures. We went early on a Friday and stayed about 1.5 hours and it was getting very crowded when we left. Kids were getting antsy so we didn't eat anything on this visit. Will be back to try the apple pie--we hear it is excellent.

Wide variety of pies and donuts for sale; we've tasted most of the pies available and these are the best we have found on the hill. The donuts are fresh and delicious, with just enough cinnamon. Mmmmm!

The young lady who served us two classic apple pies with ice cream makes this a 3. Now the prices were high, ice cream portion tiny and the pie had so much cinnamon that you couldn't taste the apple. At an apple ranch they should highlight not cover their apples.
