We celebrated our daughter's 21st birthday at Schramsburg Winery, and had a wonderful tour of the caves with a terrific sparkling wine tasting of many varietals. The tour is considerably more expensive than most Napa Valley tastings, but the tour is one of a kind and worth the extra cost.

When in Napa this has to be a stop. Reservations are required, as much in advance as possible but check as they were able to get us in last minute. You will not be disappointed with the "bubbly experience" tour and tasting!

Sorry France - it's still champagne to me even here in California! This was a very pleasant way to learn about traditional methods for making sparkling wine. The tour and tasting were very reasonably priced. We bought several bottles of different varieties, but would recommend the Cremant for something different! Yummy!

You must book in advance- tours fill quickly, and at $60, it is a commitment. However, this is an one-of-a-kind experience with a very unique tour of the extensive caves. You then follow it up with tasting of a number of sparkling wine and wine samples in a private tasting room. One of the best experiences in the Valley.

We visit Schramsberg on our last day in Napa and one of the few real tours we actually took. The tour was great as they explained the history of the winery and location as well as explaining the process for how sparkling is made. While sparkling is not my favorite it was an enjoyable tasting and worth it for the... More

This is a winery with a bit history attached to it, and our host Rimple spoke of it well. Both the history and the winery itself are very interesting, the sparking wines are good, but the host contributes a lot to the overall experience; We found Rimple, who is also a chef, to be knowledgeable not only about wine but... We arrived 5min late, but even though we called in advance, the tour did not wait for us to start (even though it didn't look like a very busy day). Luckily we only missed the very beginning, and we enjoyed the tour through the caves, saw an impressive amount of stacked bottles, and learned interesting facts about the wine country's... More

The place and the people were classy without being pretentious. The mountainside setting + cave tour was a nice change of pace from tasting bars in the valley. We learned a lot on the tour. More wine was purchased here by our whole group than any other place we visited. Highly recommend!
