Visited Burney Falls in the dead of winter. It was absolutely breathtaking. Not just the waterfalls by themselves, but the entire winter wonderland experience. The trail to the base of the falls was completely frozen and treacherous! Thankfully, there was a handrail to hang on as we literally slid down the trail. Once at the base, the mist from the... Burney Falls is a small California State Park complex centered around its namesake attraction. The interpretive Visitor's Center and store offer the usual assortment of books, shirts, cups, and other items. The detailed film about the area is worth seeing at the VC. There are two parking areas for the hike to the falls, one near the Visitor's Center and... More

Burney falls was on our list of must does on our latest road trip, and the whole of the park did not disappoint. The falls were magnificent. We took the hike around the falls then drove down to the lake - it was so peaceful and we saw quite a few deer just wandering around. We were the only people... More

This is a grand site. I went there on a cold rainy day. (take your umbrellas). there are plenty of restrooms inside the park. A trail will take you down to the falls. It is beautiful. Walk back up and you can sit on a camping table and have your food. there was also a park store (which was closed).... More

The only thing to compare is Plitvice Lakes in Croatia. If you don't want to travel that far, just come here! The falls are absolutely worth the drive and the $8 price of admission. Easy access to falls views both from above and at the base. I loved the placards with information about the falls and native species- so cool... More

I didn't have the small bills when entering the park ($8.00) and nobody was there to collect the fee (almost 5 pm). Friendly ranger did "find me" and offered change for my $20 or I could "donate" or send in fee later. I paid then, very easy going. This waterfall and park is AMAZING and a must experience!

The falls a gorgeous and had plenty of water after the recent high rain fall. The trees are beautifully colored. Think another 2 weeks or so will be peak. They have a nice loop trail around the falls with two foot bridges that offer beautiful views of the water. This time of year was hardly any people there so you... More
