Although it was windy (normal), it was a wonderful day for walking and exploring the beach. The birds were lively, the waves were crashing and the sand was therapeutic What a lovely way to spend a day!

We lucked out with the weather clearing off. Blue sky. You walk on a long & wide sandy beach. It's near a Bird Estuary So Hawks are constantly flying right Over your head. There's a nice campground there too

Doran Beach is a long spit of land running into Bodega Bay. We were there for Memorial Day weekend and had a fine time. It is a mile or more of fine sand, with convenient parking off the road. You pay $7 (2017) to drive...More

Great accessible location, nice sheltered beach, clean restrooms with flush toilets and a coin shower. But if you want peace and quiet this is not the place. As I write this our neighbors in large RV's are running very loud generators. I was hoping for...More

As we were staying at the hotel close to Doran, we went to the beach for the morning. The intense winds had not yet started so it was a lot easier to walk along the beach and overlook bodega bay. Cost 7?bucks for entrance.

Excellent views and nice place to relax. Be sure to bring a jacket, blanket and maybe even a kite. It isn't really warm here but the amazing views make up for that. The parking is free at several different spots.

Lots of interesting Pacific Coast birds with superior viewing opportunities. The Anna's Hummingbirds were especially helpful in posing on perches there.

Can you shore fish from Doran beach? And is there a general store near the campground where I can buy tackle?

I have seen people fishing, yes. There's not a store right near he campground but about a mile away in Bodega Bay town there are stores and a gas station.

Cell service? Does the campground get AT&T or Verizon? Must have for work.

Any recommendation on which site is better to stay at? Less wind, less crowded. And where exactly is this fog horn? Closer to the jetty? Thank you

Doran beach gets pretty packed especially during holidays... But then again so do the other camp sites in bodega.. The fog horn is approximately 200 yards from the parking / camp sites and the furthest point... The area is... More
