Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I did the Numbat trail which was 12km. It’s not an easy trail, heaps and heaps of steps up and down. I would have preferred no steps and just steep walks up and down as usual trails. Saying that the place was wonderful, saw roos and so many birds. Being spring the wildflowers were in full bloom. There were plenty of benches and picnic tables around and a toilet at the entrance.
You have to book over the phone and pay $10 to get an entrance code. The turntable was working without the code which was weird and there was also a side entrance which one could have used if one didn’t have a code. But the $10 fee goes towards the conservation which is good.

Hubby and I went 19 May 2021, it was middle of the week, so it wasn't busy. There only 4 other hikers at them time but we didn't see them the whole time. Booking is now easy, one can go on the Australian Wildlife Conservancy website and pick the date desired and pay by credit card. I got an automatic response in my email with 4-digit access code for the gate. You will use the code to enter and exit the park. We did the Quenda trails, it's only 6.5km but mind you, a lot of stairs! We love hiking at Paruna Sanctuary. We are planning to go back probably August when wildflowers are blooming.

Lovely scenery and a very peaceful setting. The trail is very well maintained and there are lots of picnic spots and good toilets. It's also cheaper than the national parks. The keypad thing was a bit confusing. We didn't realise we needed it for us people and not the car and that we also needed it to get out. Also some parts of the trail are not well sign posted and it was lucky someone had been there before.

Make sure you book an appointment on the paruna site before travelling here as you need an access code to enter the gate. Really great place to visit, saw lots of birds and wild kangaroos.

Its a nice walk, even thou there are thousands of steps no one ever mentions. We did the numbat trail (11.8kms) , start early as its quite a tough hot walk, we took nearly 4 hours to walk it and we are pretty fast. we did stop 3 times for quick snacks. lots of tables and chairs along the trail

Make sure you have descent ankle hiking boots, as there are some lose gravel. take at least 2 ltrs of water and snacks with you.

You do need to pay prior to going and get a gate code. you just can't turn up and get access.

very well signed posted.

We set off yesterday morning early to walk the Numbat Trail ( if you do this , make sure you wear waterproofs to get past the initial foliage) and laughed our way through having our second shower of the day. Such a beautiful start to the trail as the sun was rising. The 12kms of this track are beautiful with never a dull twist or turn. We were extremely impressed with the obvious love and care that the rangers, caretakers and volunteers take to maintain the whole area. The trails are well signed and maintained. We took 5 hours to savor everything, stopping often to admire the scenery, the wildlife- Kangaroos, birdlife, frogs and emus.
There are shorter walks if you don't wish to spend as long and I am sure the next time I go the 12kms won't take as long as I shan't be stopping at all the lookouts and wandering off down signed paths, You could do this trail in 3-4 hours but why rush when you have taken the time to come out here. Bring a picnic or lunch, find a spot and enjoy.
Be sure to make a booking prior to going up here as you cannot enter without a code for the gate.

A beautiful and serene sanctuary an hour from Perth. There are three trails to choose from and we walked the Quenda trail which was 6.5kms. A rewarding challenge the trail is circular and hilly, climbing up to 250m. Beautiful wildflowers were out and not one single sole on the trail. The trail is rated as moderately difficult.

There are a few walks here, the views are lovely, there is wildlife and beautiful wild flowers. The numbat trail is very hilly so I'd recommend a good fitness level. Call ahead on a weekday to get a code to get in.

This sanctuary is off the beaten track, although it could be linked with a visit to beautiful Toodyay about 40km down the road. Is it worth the journey? I think this could depend on the time of the year of your visit. We were there on a hot November day, & the 6.5km bushwalk was certainly more challenging than we expected as regular hikers. Our close-up wildlife sitings were limited to a couple of kangaroos, a skink, & the highlight, black parrots. Although, there was plenty of birdlife, but at a distance.
This wasn't a bad walk, but it was one that by the end we were pleased to see our car. That said, if it had been a cooler winter's day we might well have got more from it.

Lovely place to visit. It's a shame the park is run by a very outdated management who do nothing but create a multitude of barriers to access this park.

They used to have a seasonal pass which you'd have to pay over the phone because they don't have an online payment gateway (even though they spent money to update their website - yeah well done new CEO)

So now you gotta call in, pay the fee and book ahead that you're coming in, which means having to call them during business hours, and then pay over the phone using credit card, then they have to email you the code and the details to get in.

Seriously, for such a great park, they do everything you can to make it difficult for people. After complaining about it, they stated there was a few issues last year with visitors etc, so instead of finding a way to make it work, they made it even more difficult.

Find a way to make it work, quit blaming your visitors - they're your customers.
