Past Strawberry Canyon is the 34-acre Botanical Garden, which holds about 13,000 species of plants. The species are organized according to regions of the world, and the garden has a great collection of native Californian plants. Bring a picnic basket and some money for the bookstore and admission (closed the first Tuesday of each month and free on the first Thursday of each month). Be sure to check out the conservatory (for tropical plants) and the Chinese medicinal herb garden.The garden is open from 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. every day of the year except the first Tuesday of each month, Thanksgiving Day, December 24 and 25, December 31, January 1, and Martin Luther King Jr. Day. Tours are also available on Thursday, Saturday and Sunday.

The gardens were beautiful with so much to see! Neat gift shop and friendly staff! Amazing views of the bay. Really enjoyed the gardens of the world.

Parking - across the street from the gardens. $1 per hr pre paid. I put in 2 hrs, however, could have stayed for 3. Entry Free was $7. Map available at the booth. Gardens are huge and beautiful. I managed to miss two large sections....More

Positioned on a hillside, the garden provides a varied botanical experience and vigorous exercise! Cute gift shop with interesting plants for sale at reason prices. First Wednesday of the month is free, paid parking available.

Unbelievably beautiful wedding...just a dream. Circular outside amphitheater surrounded by redwoods with a canopy/filtered light. Stunning. Reception in the botanical garden conference center...beautiful outside patio for cocktail hour and dancing.

We were there in early August. It was the between -season....between flowering peak and fall colors. But it was still worthwhile to seel.
