Great uphill hike from campus if that is your thing. Nice view back to SF. Lovely old rose garden. Lots of desert plants and many interesting herbs.

A stunning garden with wonderful collections of plants growing faithfully in their assigned regional zones ! Fascinating herb gardens with descriptive labels. Rose garden should not be missed. Spend hours here if you want to. Lots of quiet corners and park benches in shaded spots.

My wife and I recently spent several hours at the UC Berkeley Botanical Gardens and had a wonderful time. There are numerous paths throughout the park, which literally take you around the floral world. It is nice and quiet in the gardens -- far from the hub-bub of the Bay Area.

For those who live in California, the visit to that special collection will be well worthwhile. It is close to the entrance and offers the opportunity to consider many, many native plants for your own garden.
