Almost as if we haven't lost a moment of time... Telegraph Avenue in Berkeley is still so reminiscent of the 60's that you will feel as if you have traveled back in time when you visit Telegraph Avenue in Berkeley. The shops and eateries are a mix...more

Every time I'm back in Berkeley at some point I find myself on Telegraph Avenue. It is interesting but also feels like it is a shadow of it's former self.

We love to walk up and down this street and visit all the stores and restaurants. Never a dull moment!

This is a zoo of a place, and it was much more fun say maybe twenty years, thirty years ago. Now it's just down and out, sharps, and homeless folks. The shops are hippy, the food is dippy, and the level of safety is rippy...More

This is advertised as a throwback to the hippie times of the sixties. Maybe it is. For us, it was nothing to get excited about. Stores and restaurants. I did enjoy the Amoeba record store, however.

It happens to be one of the main ways (streets) in the west part of the Bay area covering the Oakland municipality and the Berkeley municipality. It exhibits a significant variety of business, shops, restaurants of diverse ethnic food.

Quite close to Anuja Dorm Telegraph has many shops and bars. An eclectic place and good to hang around in.

Telegraph was always home of the hip, with all kinds of interesting artists and vendors on the sidewalks and hip and funky shops. There's still some of the sidewalk activity, but the stores are more mainstream, sidewalk vendors not as exciting, and, well, it's not...More

I've lived in Berkeley for a long time and am blocks away from the Telegraph commercial area. Change is inevitable, but in this case has not been kind. Out-of-town visitors hoping to see a slice of the legendary days will be disappointed. Newer restaurants largely...More

Many of my favorites are gone, especially the book stores. This commercial stretch has never been pretty, but it seems to be getting worse and less interesting. Lots of street people and junky food places.

a mass of not really interesting shops (a part music and some vintage t-shirts). Old stuff and a lot of dirty shops and restaurants.

It probably depends on the vendor. There's an excellent Chinese bakery across from campus that I visited about 9 am. I didn't see street vendors then. They were there in the afternoon. It probably depends on the day of the... More
