I only had a few hours while traveling but I stopped at the visitor center which was VERY impressive. Then I hiked the Harris Creek Trail (3 miles). There were nice overlooks and the trail was well marked. I also drove down the dirt road to the Cossatot Falls and took a few pictures. I will definitely go back. It... More

I camped at the Sandbar Campground and enjoyed it. The campground was pretty quiet. They don't have showers or flush toilets. They have some sort of a modern outhouse type bathroom, with no running water. That being said, the campground was quiet and clean. It is close enough to the river that you can walk to it. Bring plenty of... More

I loved the pictures on the Cossatot River State Park Website I decided to include this park in our vacation to the Ozarks. We are from Mayland. One thing I did not realize is that in spring there is much more water and the boulders do not look as interesting. Although this is a great park for locals, I would... More

Although we missed the river being high, this was certainly a amazing beauty!.. The falls are wonderful and there are great trails for sure! Although there is a longgggg gravel road to get to the falls, it's well worth it!

We met friends and camped in this wonderful Corps of Engineers Park. The premium campsites had camp trailer hookups, permanent fire rings, grills, and shade trees. The fishing was great with a variety of fish. We are planning to reserve a campsite in the fall when the leaves start changing colors.

I have lived near the Cossatot River most of my life. Grew up swimming in it well down stream from the Park area. This beautiful River now has its own state park. Clear water, beautiful terrain, unique rock formations make a perfect setting for the park and visitor center. Be sure to take the time to drive the dirt roads... More

Stopped on our way back to Texas from Hot Springs. It was a great stop and we wish we had more time to enjoy the natural beauty. Very remote, the Cossatot River cuts through the mountains and creates rapids and swimming holes. A refreshing place to cool off in the afternoon. Kids and dog had fun scrambling over the large... The Cossstot River State Park Visitors Center is not what you expect to find in such a remote area. It is beautiful, with amazing exhibits and a great movie about the formation and history of the River. The sound wasn't working when we were there, but hopefully that has been repaired. We had a delightful picnic down on the old... More
