Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The Visitor Centre is packed weekends in fall with bus groups and people. The only good thing is the platform which you will need to wait a few minutes to get the best spot for a photo over the valley. The displays were good, a small gift shop with normal novelty gifts and was hoping to get a bite to eat but the cafe is gone to only a handful of small snacks and drinks self-serve.

Roads were shoveled and sanded. A couple of roads to trails are closed in the winter. There are wintertrails; for example the two rivers trail with view from a cliff. Beautiful nature. Information center is very informative and on the balcony is a webcam you can send to friends and family so they can see you standing there with a nice view in the background. Upon entering the park you can buy a ticket for the park.

One of the nicer VC’s that we have been to. Large sized with an art gallery, gift shop, restrooms, theater, cafe, wifi zone, and large walk through museum. Beautiful view off of the back deck.

The visitor centre includes a short historic journey into the background stories of Algonquin and its origins. Many interactive displays of wildlife and those of loggers and pioneers. There is a cafe and small restaurant available for visitors. However the breathtaking panoramic view of the park is worth the drive!

Fabulous visitor centre rich with information about the area and the wildlife in the park. Especially liked leaning about the trains and the growth of the tourist sector. Very disappointed that the cafe was closed as we struggled to find anywhere for lunch

Such a beautiful park, will have to make another trip, especially when the fall colors arrive. Only went on one trail because of the ice, but that was expected for the time of year. Was really expecting to see a Moose along the way, but not this time. The birds were amazing, got great photos!

Great place to stop and have a bite to eat or take a tour through the museum. Very interesting to learn of the history that Algonquin Park holds. Great little gift shop if you are looking to by souvenirs. Observation deck is a must see with views for Kilometres.

I have been to Algonquin Park almost every summer for the past ten years.. Each trip has varied in length from a day or two, to two weeks. If you're just passing through Algonquin or staying for a longer period of time- The visitor's centre, located at KM 60, in Algonquin Park is a must see attraction.
They have a wonderful interactive museum featuring the history of Algonquin Park, and exhibits of the different wildlife in the park. There is a cute little book store and gift shop, run by The Friends of Algonquin Park, the Sunday Creek cafe, which is the perfect place to hide out if it's really hot (it's got AC) or warm up if it's raining and enjoy a meal. If you're the type of person who brings a computer camping with you, the Sunday Creek cafe has wifi available (not sure if there's a cost, I've never used it.)
The view from the observation deck, located at the back of the visitors centre, features a truly breath taking view of Sunday Creek. I could spend all day on that observation deck, which lifts you over the trees and gives you an amazing view of a little corner of the park
There is now the Fire Trail, located right off the main entrance. It is a very short board walk, that anyone can do, regardless of physical ability (it's completely accessible) and brings you to a little outlook and a replica of one of the old fire towers used by rangers in Algonquin.
Every time I visit Algonquin Park, at stop to the visitors centre is a must- and one location in the park we (my family and I) will visit several times during one trip. They have an interactive white board located right by the main entrance, where visitors can record wildlife viewings in the park. It's a great place to get ideas as to where in the park you might have the best chance of seeing certain animals that day.
The staff at The Friends of Algonquin Park Bookstore and Gift Shop are always cheerful, friendly and very helpful.
The park staff and volunteers do a truly wonderful job keeping the grounds of the visitors centre clean and accessible. I can't speak highly enough of the Algonquin Park Visitors Centre.

Unfortunately due to Covid 19 only the store is open. We always enjoyed the museum and the AV presentations. Not this time. Also the cafeteria is closed.

Great center - the staff is friendly and profession. Maps and activity flyers are available.
All the Centers in Algonquin park are worth the time to visit - they can update you on Animal sittings and trail conditions.

Good day i have a question i'm late april in canada want to go to algonquin provincial park you can go for a walk at the end of april or it has a lot of snow, thanks
Written 29 December 2019
That depends on the winter. I would THINK NOT.....however log in to the FRIENDS OF ALGONQUIN website:
....and you can get all the updated information there.
ALSO....you can watch the park LIVE all the time from the LIVE CAMERA on the Visitors' Centre.

Do I have to pay in advance for any parking in the park so I can go hike the trails ? Also what is the price at the gates for the entire park to be seen or do I have to pay at every gate?
Written 19 December 2019
Yes. You can drive through the park, but if you stop you need a parking permit, which you can get at the entry gate, or at the visitor centre.

Hello. We are travelin nearly 14 hours... lookin to see some moose in the wild, is this a good location?
Written 12 January 2018
Best times are generally early mornings. Spring time is usually ideal as you’ll see moose by the roadsides due to the salt water content.

I am planning to visit in late Oct. Is it a good time to come for landscape/nature photography? Any lodge I can stay inside the park?
Written 14 December 2017
By then the colours will be finished. But it's always a beautiful park. We always stay about ten minutes outside the park at Deerhurst, or Hidden Valley Resort. I think places inside the park close after Thanksgiving.

To whom it may concern,
Is there many gluten-free food choices for celiac or extreme gluten intolerance guests? I don't want to get sick while enjoying the beautiful scenery. Thanks for your feedbacks and help.
Written 15 September 2017
I don't think Gluten free nor any other dietary concerns are being met at the cafe at the Visitor Centre

Hello everyone!!
Greetings!
I'm thinking for camping at Algonquin Park. It would be my first camping experience so I'm very excited but I'm not sure where should I go for camping as on the website of Algonquin National Park there are so many options. Is there any option for booking campsite so that we can have any lake view? Or any other suggestions would be great! I'm thinking for September 2-4 or during Fall time.
One more question when we book a campsite does it include camping stuffs as well or we have to take the stuffs with us and they'll just provide the space?
Thanks in advance!! Sorry for this long message!!

I understand from the website that Free WiFi is available at the visitor centre. Is it only available during the hours the centre is open? Or can you always get WiFi from there even if it is closed?
Written 30 April 2017
I'm not sure as I'm a local and only use my own wifi sorry
