While staying in Jedburgh for 2 nights we visited here We found it very interesting covering a wide range of historic events There was plenty of atmosphere created by noises and explanations to interest all ages especially down in the cells!

We travelled 2 hours to vist this castle and jail , only spent 40 minutes in here , small and much of the same stuff , clean place ,gardens were lovely , friendly staff , free attraction. wouldn't travel 2 hours again for it though.

Free to enter and dogs are permitted on the exterior of the property. Nice surrounding grounds with a good view.

It was interesting to see how life was like in a jail in the olden times. Conditions were not for the faint hearted. Now a days the jails are like holiday camps.

Dogs are allowed in the grounds but not inside the jail, but they do have benches you can sit on outside whilst your partner goes inside and then change over and you go inside, it worked for us.
