About
This place is temporarily closed. Can Prunera was built between 1904 and 1911. Nothing is known about its author, although two hypothesis exist: according to one of them, it was Joan Rubio i Bellver (1870-1952), a Catalan architect who at that time was working on the facades of Saint Bartholomew Church and the Bank of Soller headquarters, but there is no documental evidence of it. Another hypothesis attributes it to local builders.

- Jennie P31 contributionsAmazing example of modernist architecture in this houseReally worthwhile interesting visit to this modernist house. Had been lived in by local family until 2009 when it was changed to a museum. Many of the interior rooms furnished as they were- original doors and floors. Also works of art by local artists including Miro. Reduced admission of 3eur for over 65's. Very glad we went.Visited October 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 3 October 2023
- Katie LKeighley, United Kingdom68 contributionsA calm oasis in busy, touristy SollerA beautiful house full of modern art, including Picasso, Miro and sketches by the likes of Toulouse Lautrec, Degas and others. Very interesting building, plus a nice little garden with sculptures. A calm oasis away from the busyness of Soller. 6 euros entry and worth the ticket price.Visited May 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 14 May 2024

I liked the art as well and even the shop had some cute things. Interesting place that is well worth a visit in what is a seriously touristy town.Visited August 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 10 August 2024

We tried to visit last year however it had been closed as it was a Monday. We’re so glad we travelled specifically to Soller to visit as it was well worth the trip. The house is amazing and the audio guide very worth the 1€! We hadn’t realised the house itself was som interesting. The art itself was amazing and underrated . So many masters . We’ll be back to visit next year on our annual trip as it’s so beautiful and I’m sure we’ll see different things next year. Thankyou

If you have stayed in Soller in the last two years and have failed to visit Can Prunera then you should kick yourself. This is a two in one treat. Firstly, it is a perfectly restored traditional and substantial Soller town house, complete with furnishings. That alone is enough to fascinate. But secondly, a wonderful collection of modern art is displayed here including works (albeit minor ones) of world class artists (Picasso, Miro. Matisse, Gauguin, to name a very few.
It's Soller's little answer to the Met - but considering the comparative sizes of Soller and New York it's simply wonderful. We were there for at least an hour and a half and came out feeling happy and fulfilled. Who could ask for more ? Well done Soller.

I had not expected this: a gorgeous modernist building, amazing architecture & design.
And then a truly excellent collection of art.
If you are in Majorca definitely worth a visit.

I absolutely loved this place. The space is cool, airy and perfect for showing art, some of which is extraordinary, some downright quirky. The main exhibition when we visited was by an extraordinary local artist, who was born in Soller. His name - I may have this wrong - was Gebert, and it was simply amazing. This place will stay with me for a long time.
Some critics on TA have confused this extraordinary space with the Picasso/Miro gallery at the tram terminal.

The Can Prunera Museum of Art is located in a fantastic old house. For me the best part of this museum is the house itself, the windows. floors and doors were amazingly beautiful. The art was interesting - many artists that I have not heard of so it was good to learn about them and see their work. The museum is a very short walk from the center of town and definitely worth a visit.

If you like art nouveau, glass, carved wood, traditional buildings or are a fan of Gaudi and/or Joan Miro then this preserved town house is definitely worth a visit. Set on three floors with very impressive nouveau rooms on the ground and first floor and an exhibition of Gaudi and Miro on the top floor. A visit would take about 1 hour to see everything - so great to combine this with a stroll around Soller, shopping and time spent at a cafe in the town square.
