As with all Greek churches it is fairly plain on the outside but you step through the doors and it's like a different world. This church is incredible inside. A must stop

We couldn't see anything of the church because there are some renovations going around. The place in front of the church is nice to see.

Since Nafplio is the original capital of Greece, you will find that there is a church in Athens with the same name. But this one is much smaller, and so quaint. Easy to get to, and the interior and relics inside are well worth a...More

This definitely a place to take a look at while in town. Beautiful paintings in this Orthodox church. This was a nice place to visit while roaming the streets!

I'm glad I ducked in here for a brief reflection. Really beautiful church, converted from a mosque. It's not obvious that you're allowed in, but you are - just approach the unmarked doors. Remember to be courteous and cover your shoulders.

Agios Giorgios has a tall belfry that stands out in the middle of the low buildings in the old town. It is open for visitation.

Take a couple minutes to check out the inside. I have several Greek friends named George, so I had to light a few candles for their benefit. The square where this church is located is serene and typical of small towns. It's nothing special, but...More

This is one of my favorite places in Nafplio. It is quiet and clean and it is peaceful - no bars or restaurants on the square to break the mood. It's no big deal, but I'm always happy when I find it!
