We stumbled across the Chateau on our drive cross country back to Poitiers airport. Had to stop as such a stunning view sat looking over the river. France at its very best.

Ruined chateau perched high above a river offering good views of the river and town below. Good spot for those panoramic photographs.

We went mid August and paid 5.5euro per adult. Not too much left but well worth a visit for the views over the old town and down to the river alone. Not a difficult walk up and around the site with plenty of information available...More

Striking location perched above the Anglin. Not a great deal left of the castle but well worth a visit. A descent of 'the English trench' is worthwhile. The English used it to take the castle - hence its name! The town is worth a walk...More

Obviously this is just a ruin of a castle/ chateaux but is steeped in history. The views are spectacular from the top. The structure is fascinating and you can really see what this would have looked like all those years ago. Well worth a visit...More

It costs 5euros to go in but its worth it, so much interesting history and amazing sites over the village. Lots of steps and hills.
