I never thought that we would be able to walk inside the Royal Tombs. Be sure to walk inside and to climb up and look around these amazing carvings.

Many people stop at the Treasury, but the amphitheater and Royal Tombs are only another 10-15 minute walk. It’s very hot in late May, but so worth pushing on! The tombs are over 2,000 years old and the Nabataean Kings were buried there. Hard to...More

Inhabited since prehistoric times, this Nabataean-city, is a source of history. Be prepared to walk!

The view from the Royal Tombs alone make this worth the climb. Thankfully, the approach isn't very steep.

All tombs are alike, so after visiting one of them, visiting all the others is meaningless. When you have enough time, you can visit tombs for 10-20 minutes, but during shortage of time, you better go for Al-Khazna or Monastery

These are close to The Treasure room and one of the few places where you can actually go inside some of the structures. If you have limited time in Petra, they are close enough to visit and very rewarding.

Before the crowds the color is spectactular. Try it on horseback or just at dawn walking. Cooler less people better.
