Many of these sites blur into one honestly - the Byzantine church was good, but the best bit of Petra was climbing the 850 steps to the Monastery. Do it at sunrise and it's deserted, totally worth it.

The ancient icon figures mosaic floor tiles were well preserved and / or restored from under the rubble from earlier fire and earthquake damage (aka 800AD). Work in progress continues by archaeologists and still requires sponsors to continue restoration tasks.

We walked to this attraction after seeing the great temple. It has some beautiful mosaic work on the floor and ruins from the past. Its a bit of a climb in the heat. But the church itself is covered to protect the mosaics

It is another great examaple of architecture and craftsmanship. The structure is amazing. You can see the layout of the place that was used as a church. There are mosaics that are worth seeing
