We would give this a 5 rating, if they sorted out the cruelty to animals and the incessant badgering for business. This is an amazing location and you need at least 2 days if not 3 days to fully explore the site. We bought a...More

What a plast from the past .. a journey take you back throughout history and beyond , the carved rocks tell you about the nations who lived in here , the dicorated tombs & the colored walls mesmerise you with its beauty.

First trip to Petra and we loved it. Be prepared for a long walk to the treasury, but the reward is great. Somewhat disappointed to see so many vendors there, but it's understandable given the tour traffic.

It is one of kind experience to be here.. amazed at how people of the ancient time took the trouble carving out holes and monuments and stuff from the rocky hills and mountains. After thousands of years the ruins are still beautiful.

Yes you can hire a horse drawn chariot to take u from the visitor centre to the treasury and back. It takes 2 people and the 'driver'. Not sure how much it should cost but you should haggle.
