Just go there! An absolutely magical experience. I imagine it is crowded and hot in season but this time of year was fabulous, sunny but not hot for walking and at times we had little corners all to ourselves.

The ancient ruins are accessed by taking a very pleasant walk through a gorge which takes about 30 minutes. When exiting the gorge the impressive Al-Dayr (“The Monastery”), the image everyone associates with Petra, is before you, and it is impressive. However, Petra was a...More

Petra lived up to our expectations. We loved visiting this incredible place and spent about a day and a half exploring. Our only disappointing experience was with some very aggressive locals that were insisting on charging us for entering a free trail. My husband had...More
