Best recommendation is to walk and enjoy the view. Siq- narrow passage with canyon walls on either side. The old sandstone canyon has such colors from the mineral deposits. Take a private guide who takes his time and explains the history of the site. While...More

I went in by horse and cart which was very jiggly but the views going in were stunning. I got of photos and was absolutely amazed at this wonder of the world. Truly amazing and I will go back again one day.

As you walk through the Siq, descending gently towards the Treasury, the cliff walls tower over you and hold surprises if you take the time to look. Every corner holds a new photo opportunity. The walk back is more challenging, with the effort eased by...More

The colors are amazing, lots of surprises if we take time to look for. The shadow we can get there during the way back is welcome !

This is one of the longest and most beautiful slot canyons we've seen, and we've hiked the ones in Arizona. It's amazing the Nabateans found this well-hidden entrance, but not surprising that others couldn't. If you didn't know where to look, you wouldn't guess that...More

Great walkway - and when you note the men with the camels on the left when going in - look closely to see all of them. In parts you only see the man's sandals and camel feet, other parts you see that and can look...More

My friends and I had such a great experience, we only wished we'd had more time to climb and explore more, but I guess there is a reason to come back. Loved the colors, shapes and the formations of the rocks. The walk between these...More

This is the narrow gorge, formed over thousands of years of water flow allowing access to the ancient city of Petra. The rock is beautiful to look at on the way in and the narrow entrance that reveals the Treasury is almost theatric.

We walked in leisurely, through the Siq, with our guide. Please notice the ingenious water system the Nabataeans carved out of stone. Amazing views and pictures. Start early before the crowds. We started at 8 a.m. Few people.

You won't need to be an experienced horse rider because the locals will either walk the horse or ride alongside you. Be careful to very clearly negotiate a price for the ride AND for the tip before you start because some... More
