We did the trek ourselves, which is doable if you are a bit experienced and take care of the altitude. The mountain pass is at 4750 meters high, but actually this is the highest point. If you come from Cashapampa then there´s a gradual ascent,...More

I was on Santa Cruz trail and Laguna 69 inside the national park. We did the reverse way so building climax with Laguna 69 as last stop. The mountain is magnificent as his name “stronger”. The lakes and lupine blossoms in valley and on slope...More

We did a 4 days trekking from Caraz by our own. A lot of people start the trek from Yungay. The trek from Caraz is more difficult, on the first day there is about 900meters of ascend, and the last day after finishing the trek,...More

Beautiful park with bright blue lakes and beautiful mountains and streams. Definitely recommend! It can be expensive to get a taxi driver (they have to stay there and wait for you). Also be prepared for altitude sickness

I was in awe of the landscapes in Huascaran National Park. While I did not hike the mountain, I was more than happy to enjoy the sights, clean atmosphere and take tons of photos. Look for the sweet dog in Querococha Lake who will happily...More

This park offers very good hiking options in high altitudes. We did the standard hikes like one day trip laguna 69 and the convenient 4 day Santa Cruz trek. The landscapes are great and it's nice to explore it by tour so you don't have...More

You can have a good look at this peak from the village of Catac, but it's best appreciated while hiking back from Lake 69. You'll want to hike as slowly as possible to admire it and engrave it in your memory.

We stayed at the Lazy Dog Inn and did this hike right out the front door. Once you reach the entrance to the park, you must "hop over" a short fence. There are sometimes locals there asking you to pay. Current pricing is 10 soles...More

We were fortunate that a friend has a good friend in Huaraz who is an expert on the local mountains. He took us up this god-awful dirt road to the mountaineering school that is just inside the park near glacier fronting the three mountains (Vallunaraju,...More

Some of the most beautiful country in Ancash State. Well worth the time to visit. The road through the park itself is nicely paved if you travel by bus. Absolutely stunning views of Huascaran.
